WCU Faculty Agree on Contract 'Framework'

The faculty union of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education agrees to the "framework" of a new contract after a weekend-long negotiation session.

The Daily Local reports that the faculty union of the State System of High Education has reached an agreement on the "framework" of a new contract with the state.

According to the Daily Local, the contract has not yet been ratified, and therefore few details about what's in the contract exist.

The Daily Local reports:

A new contract would apply to the approximately 5,500 faculty at the 14 state-owned universities in the state system including West Chester and Cheyney universities.

Union representatives said the agreement was reached after nearly two full days of negotiating. The union said the general framework “largely mirrors the agreements reached by Governor Corbett and the other statewide unions.”
