This is so pathetic to see my tax dollars going to arresting drunk people? Really?

I should qualify that comment further: arresting drunk people for just being drunk, and not committing serious crimes while in this condition. Chasing young drunk college students to arrest for being loud and annoying is so much easier than fighting real crime.

Where does it say college students? It is break time. Could be lawyers.

A couple comments in response here. First of all, a crime is a crime whether it be public drunkeness or assault. Secondly, these drunk people arrests are quality of life issues that I think residents would be appreciative of because its bettering the community. And lastly, who knows what more severe crimes the officers are preventing as a result of making these drunk people arrests. They could be preventing drunk people from getting into a car and driving, getting into assaults, breaking into houses, etc.
