Mayfield was built between 1848 and 1851 for the wealthlly Pittsburgh Industrialist William Ebbs. The design has been attributed to Thomas U. Walter although documentation for this does not exist. Walter was active in West Chester through the 1840's, and was known for his Greek Revival designs ofwhich Mayfield is a prime example.

Wow, I got it right too. Didn't know all of the history Roy provided. Marcy Gregory used to live there. I remember doing wedding flowers there in the early 80's. Beautiful home.
