Update: Suspect in $50,000 Bryn Mawr Jewelry Theft from West Chester
Police arrested Ann Gleason for her alleged role in a robbery of a Bryn Mawr home.
A 34-year-old West Chester woman was arrested on third-degree felony charges relating to an October theft of $50,000 worth of jewelry in Bryn Mawr, according to Lower Merion police.
The victim, of Springmont Circle in Bryn Mawr, discovered the jewelry missing between Oct. 2 and 7 and reported the missing items to Lower Merion police.
The suspect, Ann Tucker Gleeson, was a lifelong friend of the victim’s daughter, according to police.
Information leading to Gleeson’s Feb. 2 arrest came from another police department conducting a separate investigation, police said, adding that a person in possession of some of the jewelry said Gleeson had given it to them.
Some of the jewelry stolen has been recovered, according to police.
Gleeson's bail was set at $10,000 unsecured, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing for Gleeson is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 9 before Magisterial District Judge Henry Schireson in Penn Valley.
