West Chester Boy, 9, Set to Run in Antarctic Marathon
The extraordinary Nikolas Toocheck is 'excited to meet a penguin.'
A 9-year-old West Chester resident is set to run in a marathon on Monday, according to 6ABC. In Antarctica.
“I’m really excited to meet a penguin,” Nikolas Toocheck told the station.
Antarctica is an appropriate venue for the precocious kid’s next race. Toocheck, who completed his first 26.2 miler two years ago, runs to raise money for Operation Warm, a charity that provides coats for needy kids.
But is it safe for a kid to compete in marathons before his tenth birthday?
Toocheck’s father, a physician and fellow marathoner, says his son will be just fine.
"In the last couple of years, I don't think he's missed one day of running," the proud dad bragged.
