Man Tries to Escape on Foot after Traffic Stop

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

 

Possession: On Jan. 18, at approximately 11:02 p.m., as a result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Matlack Street a 21-year-old West Chester resident was taken into custody for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Resisting and Escaping Arrest: On Jan. 16, at approximately 9:04 a.m., West Chester police conducted a traffic stop on a 35-year-old Philadelphia resident who was seen operating a motor vehicle on a suspended driver’s license and other traffic offenses.  The man stopped the vehicle and then proceeded to flee on foot after being ordered to stop.  After a short foot pursuit the man was taken into custody.

DUI: On Jan. 19, at approximately 3:37 a.m., West Chester police pulled over a 31-year-old Coatesville resident for a traffic violation.  The man was observed going the wrong way in the 200 block of East Market Street and was arrested after failing field sobriety tests at the scene.
