Firefighter Dies in Line of Duty
A member of the Good Will Fire Department passes away.
Captain Chris Good of the Good Will Fire Company, part of the West Chester Fire Department, passed away after fighting a fire at 1255 Elmwood Avenue in West Goshen Tuesday afternoon.
According to firefighterclosecalls.com, Good went to work at his nearby career firefighting job after the fire in West Goshen.
Firefighterclosecalls.com reports that Good returned to West Chester on Thursday morning to participate in some fire department pre-planned duties and then went home.
While home, Good's wife found him down on the ground in cardiac arrest. CPR was started and EMS responded, but both were unsuccessful, firefighterclosecalls.com reports.
Good has been a member fo the West Chester Fire Department since 2002, and according to the Good Will Fire Company website, he joined the department because of his family.
On the Good Will Fire Company website, Good wrote about what the best part of being in the department was:
