Many families are gearing up for Back-to-School this week. What better way to stock up for the school year than a visit to the West Chester Growers Market? Grab fresh veggies and fruit for healthy lunches, flowers to make a good impression on the teacher, soap to scrub up so you can start the first day of school nice and clean!
We're rounding the corner to Fall, but that is equally as exciting as Summer! Plenty to look forward to, but be sure to grab up the remaining weeks of berries and peaches before our sights are set on apples and pumpkins!
Mark your calendars: NEXT WEEKEND, Saturday September 1, we'll be having our annual Labor Day Cookout, complete with hotdogs and lemonade. You won't want to miss it!
More to come in the next few weeks - so stay tuned!

Bryer Apiary will be in attendance at this week's market with plenty of freshly-harvested, raw, local, Chester County honey. My bees (and I!) have been very busy getting the harvest completed and honey prepared for the market. This year's honey is slightly lighter than last year's, but maintains the wonderful flavor and fragrance. See you Saturday!
Ellen April will be at the market this week with their large selection of handcrafted soap and body products, including their three newest soaps ... Ginger Honey, Herb Garden and Pink Grapefruit. Also this week they'll be bringing a limited quantity of their Orphans & Uglies. These are perfectly fine soaps that may be the last of their kind, dinged, dented or just cosmetically challenged. They're a great bargain and the perfect way to try Ellen April soap at a reduced price.
London Vale Farm
This week we will have: Chinese cabbage, as well as a great assortment of fresh produce!
Farmer Ike's Pick of the Week: Golden Supreme Apple Sweet with a nice medley of fruit flavors. Crisp, crunchy, and juicy. A delight to eat for this time of year. They would also make a nice applesauce without the need of much sweetener. It is believed to have been a chance seedling discovered in Idaho. Farmer Ike became interested in it after reading about various taste trials it has gone through at university fruit breeding stations. We tried a few trees and liked it, so we planted a lot more, and this is our first large crop of them. Don't be scared of the yellow color
News from Lindenhof Farm: We have now pork chops, Bratwurst, Breakfast Links, Hot italian sausages and spare ribs (only if you are missing some ribs) . In addition to the new pork we have bacon, ham steaks and kielbasa grillers. Once again we will be offering for you lots of fresh chicken, fresh turkey and plenty of beef items to select! And we got farm-fresh brown eggs! Or take home a fresh turkey or chicken pie for dinner! Www.lindenhoffarm.net
